The Indy Bass Club (IBC) is a non federated bass fishing club of approximately thirty members who share the common interest of bass fishing, friendly competition and preservation of our natural resources. The club is based and meets in Indianapolis, Indiana. The original name of the club was Westside Indy Lunker Landers and changed to IBC in the late 80's. Our members vary from the more experienced angler to newcomers looking to start their fishing career. The club was formed in 1979 by members who wanted the competition of tournaments, yet in friendly, honest and open environment where your competitors are also your friends. The membership consists of husband/wife, father/son, friends and individuals.
IBC Headlines 2009Please note that Summit Lake is no longer on our schedule. The Summit Lake Tournament has been canceled due to DNR restrictions that do not allow the club to fish there without insurance and numerous fees that Indy Bass Club does not see reasonable to pay at this time. We have found another tournament that is more affordable and hopefully turns out to be a good fishing hole. The new site is Komomo Reservoir on Saturday July 18th. We don't want people to miss out on the tournament change. Here are the rules :
The city of Kokomo has a 10 mph speed limit, but the county oversees the lake so they will allow faster speeds. There is a 200 feet idle zone around ALL banks. The lake is shallow, so if you want to run we were told it is at your own risk due to tons of tree stumps. The RAMP is located on the northern part of the reservoir. (Wayne will send a map and directions when the tournament time gets closer.) The launch time is going to be the same 5:30am, so be on time. I know some of you have been upset with the schedule, lakes of choice, and changes that have been made, so I want to apologize for any inconvenience. On that note, things happen that we cannot control all the time. If you feel you need to vent, send me an email with your concerns and the committee will discuss it. For those boaters that have kids or want to help with a kid's tournament see below: July 25th (Kid's Fishing Tournament) at Kokomo Reservoir Two weeks leading up to tournament are angler classes for the kids The tournament is 3hrs long (8am to 11am) on that Saturday Interested Contact John Martino (765) 456-7275 Check out the links and use the IBC forum, let us hear your thoughts about the tournament, the tactics you used to catch your fish. See you all soon at Lake Lemon If you're a guest just browsing the site and would like more information about our club please contact me via telephone or email.
